Sometimes, when creating a website, a maintenance mode page is required to inform visitors that a new website is coming soon or undergoing maintenance. This is to prevent users from exploring the website while work is being carried out, and from encountering bugs or information you might not want them to see until the maintenance is completed. In Elementor, I have sometimes encountered websites where a client has attempted to create a maintenance mode page, but they have created it as a regular WordPress page. This is not the correct way of creating these pages because a maintenance mode page needs a status code associated with it to tell Google bots if the website is down for maintenance or coming soon.
In this video, I demonstrate how to set up a maintenance mode page in Elementor correctly, so that bots crawling the page know that it is a maintenance mode page, and so that users visiting the website can’t access any other areas of the website until maintenance mode is turned off.
